Gore Family Reunion Newsletter
                                                                          Aug. 14, 2002

About 110 relatives and guest signed the Gore Family Reunion attendants book on August 10, 2002. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to be with us. Work and illness kept many people from attending. Our best wishes go out to all those who were not well this year. Perhaps all of us who were there, as well as those who were not there, will be able to make it to the reunion next year.
Several events highlighted this year's gathering. First, we were overjoyed to have Gore families all in one place.

Family Recipes were gathered at the registration desk.
A recipe book to help fund reunion 2004 will be put together and on sale
at the reunion in 2003.
It's not to late to send your favorite family recipe to Sharon Gore Wood.
Thanks to all of you who contributed your family recipe.

An Auction was held after lunch.  We were honored to have Joe "Big Red" Gore as our auctioneer, assist by Jack Gore. Good Job, Big Red and Jack.  Money made from the Auction will help pay for the reunion in 2003. Date, Time, and Place to be announced later.

Big Red had lots of nice items to auction, that were donated by:
Bernice Gore, Kathryn Gore Clark, Rutha Sales,
Lola Fregia, and Sharon Gore Wood

Two large charts on the Church Wall depicted the extensive Gore family tree, Thanks to the hard work of Jack Gore and Leona Paine Farnsworth. It was a particular topic of conversation. Many people added missing names and shared many stories while they reminisced about the past. After this year, many new names will be added to one on display next year.

All that, and I haven't even mentioned the tables of food that were prepared. I'm sure everyone went home well fed.
Dinner was served at 12:00pm with Betty Gore Dohmann turning Thanks.  And what a wonder prayer that was to our Lord.

Funds raised this year:  Auction - $312.00   Donations - $178.00
Franks Branch Cemetery Funds - $95.00
                           Thanks Gore's for your generosity.

So, that's it for 2002 of the Gore gathering at Franks Branch Church and Cemetery. It was a joy to see everyone and to share in all the activities. Hope to see everyone again next year.  Start getting together a mailing list of family you know and send them to
